  1. ITF Research Forum The ITF is promoting their 7th annual Vocational Education and Training Research Forum, which kicks off this week. ED is a sponsor!
  2. Apprentice of the Year The building industry apprentice of the year competition is now getting underway.
  3. Model Training Infratrain is highlighting Taylors Contracting as a model company for its involvement in training.
  4. Cheap House WelTec is selling a student-built 3-bedroom house for offers above $76,500 – get in fast.
  5. 20/20 Cricket Education NZ is running a 20/20 cricket tournament in Delhi for six local schools. Just as with SIT’s announcement that John Wright will help them with promotion, this is a good awareness-raising angle. We covered the SIT story yesterday, but here’s a more detailed version.
  6. India-NZ Agreement Anne Tolley, Minister of Education, signed an education agreement with her Indian counterpart yesterday. The text is not available, but here’s Tolley’s release.
  7. Jewel of India A University of Auckland professor, Debes Bhattacharyya, has received two prestigious awards for ex-residents of India.
  8. Bundling of Quals In a good example of how often qualifications are bundled together, 180 graduates will be awarded 237 qualifications at UCOL Wairarapa today.
  9. NZQA Chair Honoured NZQA Chair Sue Suckling has been honoured by the Royal Society, being made a Companion of the organisation – she has a strong background in science.
  10. Entry ConcernsNMIT student president Rachel Boyack is concerned about potential changes to degree entry.
