Welcome to ED Blog, a blog for people working in and around NZ tertiary education who care about policy, strategy and results.
The best blogs are part of a community and a gap exists for a tertiary education community in the demise of the weekly NZ Education Review paper in late 2009. So we will be encouraging guest bloggers and occasional opinion pieces from across the tertiary education sector, ensuring that people can continue to discuss the sector’s issues. We will also be seeking views from sector groups on major issues and sharing them with readers. The beauty about this medium is that you can add to, or review, their comments.
I’m Dave Guerin and I will be the main blogger. Anyone wishing to submit a one-off opinion piece or become a regular guest blogger should contact me at dave@ed.co.nz. Well-argued, constructive, original and proof-read writing is welcome from all quarters, but posting is at Education Directions Ltd’s (ED) discretion. Those who know me will know that I have strong views on many tertiary education issues, but also that I enjoy a good debate, so I will encourage variety in posts and comments for this blog. ED’s focus is on linking the key players in tertiary education, so some vigorous debate doesn’t upset us in the least.
The fine print – ED owns this blog. ED offers services in the tertiary education sector and we will mention or promote those services from time to time in the blog. You can find out more about the policies behind the blog and ED’s activities in the links at the top of the page.
